I witnessed Port Said Governorate During the past 24 hours, important events took place, ranging from ministerial tours, humanitarian decisions, and intensive preparations to celebrate the 69th National Day. Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, accompanied by Major General Moheb Habashi, Governor of Port Said, inspected the progress of work in establishing the new Egyptian Club Stadium, out of an interest in following up on implementation rates and ensuring that it comes out with the highest technical specifications that befit the name and history of the Egyptian Club, amid assurances that the work is near completion.

He confirmed Governor of Port Said The cost of constructing the stadium exceeded double the scheduled budget, according to the report of the consulting office supervising the project, indicating that the delay in opening was to ensure the full quality of implementation, while the Minister of Youth and Sports explained that the delay of some stages was linked to the work of the stadium floor and the artificial grass, as a result of the appearance of plants and weeds that hindered the completion of the equipment, pointing to the Ministry’s approval to place the name and logo of the Egyptian Club on the seats of the stands, with a study of a partial opening of the stadium to coincide with the Port Said holidays.

In a touching humanitarian gesture, the Minister of Youth and Sports and the Governor of Port Said offered their condolences to the family of the late swimmer Youssef Mohamed Abdel Malik in the city of Port Fouad, affirming the state’s full solidarity with the family, and announced that the Olympic swimming pool being built in the youth city in Port Said would be named after the late swimmer, in memory of him and in honor of his sporting career, while assigning the governorate’s judicial advisor to follow up on the legal procedures related to the incident.

The governorate’s preparations to celebrate its 69th National Day

In conjunction with the governorate’s preparations to celebrate its 69th National Day, Port Said received participating artistic teams from the countries of Russia and Jordan, to participate in the activities of the Port Said International Festival of Arts and Tourism, scheduled to be held during the period from December 20 to 26, within the framework of supporting cultural tourism and promoting cultural exchange between peoples, in full coordination with the Youth and Sports Directorate.
The governorate also announced an expanded and unprecedented program of celebrations, which includes the opening of major development and service projects, the organization of military and popular parades, cultural, educational and sporting events, the laying of a wreath in Martyrs’ Square, and the first Port Said Forum for Art and Peace, in addition to field tours to inspect and open a number of projects, in confirmation of the continuation of comprehensive development efforts and raising the level of services provided to the people of Port Said.
