The 35th edition of the African Cup of Nations begins today, Sunday – Nations of Africa 2025- It is scheduled to be held in Morocco, during the period from December 21 to January 18.

Over the course of 70 years, the past 34 editions witnessed a number of records, both at the level of participating teams and players, which witnessed a strong presence of Egyptian football, as Cairo 24 monitors the most prominent of them in the following lines.

5. Congolese Pierre Ndiaye Mulamba is the player who scored the most goals in one edition, with 9 goals, in the 1974 Africa Cup of Nations.
6. Ivorian Laurent Boko scored the most in a single match in the Cup of Nations, with 5 goals, against Ethiopia in the 1970 edition.

The opening date of the African Nations 2025 in Morocco

Moulay Abdullah Stadium in Rabat will host the match between Morocco and the Comoros at ten in the evening today, in the opening match of the African Cup of Nations.
