Apple is facing a problem with the supply of MacBook Neo chips after demand exceeded expectations, which led to a shortage of the A18 Pro processors currently used in the device, which may affect the continuation of production during the coming months.
It is estimated that Apple’s reliance on only one copy of the processor makes it more difficult to meet demand. Among the solutions proposed are canceling the 256 GB version or using an unsorted processor in some versions, but these options may not be sufficient in the long term.
To address the problem in the future, Apple may move to diversify the lineup in the next generation equipped with the A19 processor, by offering more than one category with different processors and varying storage and memory capacities. This diversity helps distribute demand and reduce pressure on one segment.

This trend could also allow for offering higher options at a greater price, and others at a lower price, to maintain the competitive price, ensuring continuous availability of the device. Expectations indicate that this diversification may become necessary as the demand for MacBook Neo continues to be strong.
