The vicinity of a Lebanese army force, while performing a joint field mission with UNIFIL forces, came under fire from an Israeli tank emerging from the newly created site in the Al-Hamams area, near Wadi Al-Asafir, south of the town of Khiam, according to what the Lebanese News Agency reported.
No details have been reported yet about injuries or damage as a result of the incident, while the Lebanese military leadership is following up on the matter in coordination with the United Nations forces to assess the situation and ensure stability in the region.
Immediate evacuation of specific areas in the villages of Al-Kharayib and Ansar
Earlier, the Israeli occupation army issued an urgent warning to the residents of southern Lebanon, calling for the immediate evacuation of specific areas in the villages of Kharayeb and Ansar, in preparation for carrying out possible military operations.
The Israeli army said in a statement that it intends, within a short period of time, to target what it described as military infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah, accusing the party of prohibited attempts to rebuild its activities in the region.
Shortly after that, Israeli aircraft launched raids on those areas, claiming that they were targeting sites belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah.
