LinkedIn Business Network announced Microsoft It announced its plan to lay off 6% of its total working staff for reasons related to the Corona pandemic and its impact on the labor market in the world as a whole.
The platform will lay off 960 employees working in the global sales sector and the talent management team, and the CEO of the Business Network, Ryan Roslansky, commented that LinkedIn is not immune to the dependencies resulting from the global pandemic.
Through an email addressed to his employees, Roslansky said that the impact of Covid-19 on the recruitment market continues, both on the scope of business solutions provided by the platform and on the company as a whole.
Explaining that there are job roles that are no longer needed at a time when the company is adapting to the lack of demand for internal recruitment as well as the global talent product range. Pointing out that the current layoff plan is the only one on the table.
In addition to the above, there are some other factors that played a role in the company’s current decision: Among them is the integration plan that it is implementing between its educational system “Learning Management System” and talent solutions for the business sector “Talent Solutions”. This is in order to avoid doubling the cost based on duplication of positions and organizational tools in each of them by limiting themselves to one team that performs both functions.
As for employees laid off due to the effects of Corona, they will be able to keep their devices that the platform provided for them during the period of work, with an end-of-service reward and health insurance for a year for those from within the United States and a year for months for those from outside it, in addition to assistance in obtaining a new job.
