Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, Governor of Qena, appreciated the efforts made in the village of “Hou” in the Nag Hammadi center, by launching the “Its Youth Can Change” initiative, and highlighting the role of community participation, to enhance the role of youth in promoting public services and improving the cultural appearance of the villages.

Her youth initiative can make a difference

The Governor of Qena stressed that youth are the true fuel for development and the primary partner in building the new republic, noting that integration between executive agencies and community participation is a priority within Egypt’s Vision 2030, to raise the quality of life in villages and centers to preserve the civilized appearance.

For his part, Hussein Al-Zamqan, head of the center and city of Nag Hammadi, explained that the local unit of the village of “Hou”, headed by Irfan Fakar, succeeded in coordination with a number of the village’s youth in launching an initiative to improve the level of services and public cleanliness.

Al-Zamqan pointed out that the initiative was able to remove 30 tons of waste and pave 4 kilometers of internal streets, with a glider that was rented at their own expense, with the participation of the local unit’s equipment.

He added that 45 new lighting floodlights were installed in vital points, including the Mafraq area, the Raml ambush, the aluminum entrance, Zalitam Road, Halfaya Road, and in front of the local unit, in addition to decorating the walls with national flags and phrases, noting the support of Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, Governor of Qena, for all community initiatives that work to serve the community and develop the environment.

While the participants in the initiative stressed that this work is not just a temporary event, but rather the beginning of a series of development work and partnerships with executive agencies, in order to raise the level of services in the village.
