LG has officially entered the bezel-less TV category, announcing its new Gallery TV as its first dedicated entry into this growing segment.

Thus, LG becomes the fifth big player in this category, after companies such as Samsung, TCL, Skyworth, and Hisense introduced models of frame TVs over the past years.

The LG Gallery TV will be available in 55- and 65-inch sizes, relying on a 4K Mini LED panel instead of the OLED technology that the company is usually known for.

Some may confuse this new model with the previous G Series OLED series, which was called Gallery, but LG chose Mini LED technology for this TV specifically because it can withstand displaying still images for long periods without the burn-in problems associated with OLED screens.

The company indicates that the panel contains a specialized surface treatment that reduces reflections and glare, which is necessary for a TV intended for continuous viewing throughout the day under different lighting conditions.

The TV comes with interchangeable magnetic frames, with a white frame included by default, while options with wooden frames are available separately depending on the market.

The TV operates on the Gallery+ platform, which gives users access to more than 4,500 images, including works of art, photography, and cinematic scenes.

Users can also upload their own images or use built-in options to create images with generative AI. To access the full library, a subscription is required, while a limited selection of content is available for free, similar to Samsung’s Art Store.

The TV has a built-in light sensor that adjusts the brightness and colors according to the ambient light, with the aim of reproducing the texture and colors of artworks with high accuracy. LG has not yet announced prices or availability of the TV in different markets, but it is expected that these details will be revealed after its presentation at CES.
