Xiaomi officially launched its new Redmi A7 Pro phone in the Indian market, making it the first version bearing the Pro title in the company’s A series of budget phones. This new phone features a huge 6.9-inch HD+ screen, and supports a smooth refresh rate of 120 Hz with a peak brightness of up to 800 nits to provide an excellent and comfortable visual experience for users in this price category.

Xiaomi chose to rely on the Unisoc T8300 processor, which is coupled with 4 GB of LPDDR4X random access memory, in addition to UFS 2.2 internal storage space of up to 128 GB, with the ability to expand via an external microSD memory card. The phone derives its power from a giant 6,300 mAh battery that supports 15-watt wired charging, while a 20-watt Belkin charger is available at a price of $9.99. What is interesting is that the phone also supports wired reverse charging technology with a capacity of 7.5 watts.

The phone runs on the HyperOS 3 interface based on the Android 16 system, with an impressive commitment from Xiaomi to provide four years of major system updates to reach Android 20 and six years of security updates until 2032. Despite this exceptional support for a budget phone, it is still a little behind Samsung’s policy in the Galaxy M36 5G phone, which offers six years of system and security updates. As for photography, the device includes a 32-megapixel primary camera and a 32-megapixel front camera. 8MP for taking selfies and making video calls clearly.

The phone’s specifications are complemented by a set of practical features that include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a USB-C port, in addition to its support for the IP52 standard for resistance to water splashes and modern wireless communication technologies such as Bluetooth 5.4. The phone will be available in three attractive colors, including misty blue, sunset orange, and black, with its price starting at 11,499 Indian rupees, which is about 125 US dollars, for the 64 GB version, while the cost of the 128 GB version is 12,499 Indian rupees, which is about 135 US dollars, and it will be officially put on sale tomorrow, the fifteenth of April, through Xiaomi’s official website and authorized sales outlets.
