With an Intel processor and card reader, the Blackview AceBook 8 is now available in a new configuration. It features a USB Type-C port, but it won’t be suitable for heavy workloads.
The BlackView IceBook 8 computer is not new, but it is now available on the Geekbuying website with new bitcoins for 489 euros. US buyers can find the laptop at the brand’s official online store for $585. This version runs on an Intel N150 processor instead of the Intel N97. Overall performance remains somewhat limited, so this laptop is better suited for basic tasks like office work and web browsing. We’ve already tested the Intel N150 processor in the Ninker Mbox 11 minicomputer.
This is a 15-inch laptop with an IPS panel and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The screen-to-body ratio is 84 percent, while the SSD has a capacity of 512GB and comes with Windows 11 Home operating system pre-installed. With 16GB of DDR4 RAM, the memory space is fairly reasonable for a desktop laptop. Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 are supported, for example for connecting a wireless headset. The BlackView IceBook 8 has two separate speakers and microphones, which should provide some noise reduction. The 1MP front camera has a low resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
The monitors can be connected via HDMI 2.0 or USB Type-C, the latter of which can handle video output as well as data transfers. Dimensions are listed as 14.1 x 9.2 x 0.75 inches, and the wallet-friendly 15-inch laptop weighs 3.5 pounds. There are two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card reader. Finally, the battery is relatively small at 38 watt-hours.
