New leaks revealed additional details about Apple’s first foldable iPhone, temporarily known as the iPhone Fold, which is expected to be launched next September.
The leaker, Instant Digital, explained on Weibo that Apple will place the volume control buttons above the right edge of the device, in a design similar to what is found in the iPad Mini.
This arrangement (according to the leak) is due to the motherboard being placed on the right side, so that the company avoids passing cables to the left side.
On the other hand, the right side will also include the power button with the Touch ID sensor along with the Camera Control button, while the left side of the phone will remain completely devoid of any buttons.

On the front, the iPhone Fold is expected to rely on a front camera with a single hole design intended for selfies and video calls. As for the back, the phone will come with two cameras inside a photographic unit with a design inspired by the iPhone Air, with an LED flash and a built-in microphone.
The leak also indicated that the rear camera unit will come in a complete black color that differs from the color of the phone’s body, giving the design a clear visual contrast. The phone is expected to be available in at least two colors, including white.
Finally, the leaker mentioned that Apple will adopt a stacked internal design that allows for more space for the battery, in a move aimed at improving the daily use life of the foldable phone.
