Unfit for consumption meat and poultry were seized during a major veterinary campaign in Qalyubia
The campaign came in implementation of the directives of Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, to intensify control over the markets and organize continuous campaigns to purify the markets of meat, poultry and fish that are not fit for human consumption, especially with the approaching month of Ramadan.
The campaign was headed by Dr. Hani Shams El-Din, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Veterinary Medicine in Qalyubia, with the participation of the Supply Investigation Department and doctors from the slaughterhouse and meat inspection department, including Dr. Afifi Ibrahim, Dr. Ayman El-Shaarawy, and Dr. Mohamed Refaat.
The campaign’s efforts resulted in the seizure of an abandoned poultry farm used to illegally slaughter sick livestock, where a whole carcass was found that was sick, slaughtered, and unfit for human consumption.
The committee was also able to seize large quantities of poultry and liver unfit for consumption, with a total weight of 720 kilograms. The seized items were seized, the necessary legal measures were taken, and the incident was referred to the Public Prosecution to take action.
