Users can now purchase print books directly through Spotify, after the company announced in February the Page Match feature, which synchronizes reading progress between audio, electronic, and print books.
During that announcement, Spotify also revealed a partnership with Bookshop.org to enable purchases of paper copies from within the app.
This feature has actually started arriving today in the United States and the United Kingdom, with purchase currently limited to the Spotify application on Android, while support is scheduled to arrive on iOS within the next week.
Meanwhile, Spotify is expanding Page Match to support more than 30 additional languages, including French, German, and Swedish.
The company indicates that users who adopt this feature listen to audiobooks at a rate approximately 55% higher per week than others. And 62% of audiobooks synced via Page Match had never been listened to before.
Audiobooks on Spotify are now available in 22 countries, with a library of about 700,000 titles. The Audiobook Recaps feature has also become available on Android after previously launching on iOS, providing short audio summaries personalized for the final stopping point to make it easier to follow the story.
Spotify is also launching Audiobook Charts in Germany, with lists of the best audiobooks in general and by different categories, depending on listening and interaction rates, to be updated weekly.
In the US and UK, the company is also adding a dedicated list of kids and family content.
