Dr. Tamer Salah Mokhtar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Qalyubia, directed the launch of sudden and intensive campaigns at the level of a number of governorate centers, within the framework of the directives of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and the instructions of Engineer Hossam Abdel Fattah, Governor of Qalyubia, to intensify oversight of markets and bakeries.

The campaigns included the areas of Toukh – the East Shubra Al-Kheima neighborhood – Qalyoub – the West Shubra Al-Kheima neighborhood, where they resulted in the issuance of 22 case reports against municipal bakeries for violations that varied between the production of bread that was underweight and did not meet the specifications, closure without a permit, and the lack of a visit record or usable scale, in addition to the low level of cleanliness and the lack of an operating menu.

11 misdemeanor reports were also issued against commercial activities for not announcing prices, in addition to two misdemeanor reports against tourist bakeries for practicing the activity without a license, not adhering to weights and prices, and using home gas cylinders in violation, as two gas cylinders were seized.

The Supply Directorate confirmed the continuation of monitoring campaigns to control markets and take legal measures against violators.
