The American delegate to the UN Security Council said that Iranians took to the streets in pursuit of a better future, stressing that US President Donald Trump stands with the Iranian people in their legitimate demands.
The American delegate explained, during his speech before the Security Council, that the United States and the international community will not tolerate the killing of demonstrators in Iran, holding the Iranian regime responsible for the acts of violence against the protesters, in addition to the deteriorating living conditions that the Iranian people are suffering from.
Widespread human rights violations inside Iran
He pointed out that reports issued by the United Nations documented widespread human rights violations inside Iran, stressing that Tehran’s internal behavior reflects negatively on regional and international stability.
He added that Iran’s allies in Yemen threatened international navigation and destabilized the region, pointing out that the Iranian regime launched repeated attacks against American interests and individuals.
The American delegate stressed that the continued violence in Iran does not only impact internally, but also has direct repercussions on international peace and security.
