Residents found the body of a newborn baby today, Friday, next to Al-Hamam Canal in the village of Arab Al-Ataula, affiliated with Al-Fath Center in Assiut Governorate.

Major General Wael Nassar, Director of Assiut Security, received a notification from the Rescue Operations Room stating that a report had been received from the people that the body of a newborn foundling child had been found next to the canal. The security services immediately moved to the location of the report.
Upon examination, it was found that the body was of a newborn baby, and it was transferred to the hospital morgue at the disposal of the Public Prosecution, which initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident, and assigned the Investigation Unit to conduct the necessary investigations to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
