Dr. Tamer Salah Mukhtar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Qalyubia, directed the Khanka Supply Department to implement a surprise campaign targeting bakeries and commercial activities within the scope of the administration department.
Extensive food supply violations were detected in Qalyubia
The campaign resulted in the issuance of (2) misdemeanors against supermarkets for not announcing prices, and the seizure of a quantity of (160 kg) of meat and poultry products of unknown origin and without any data indicating their source, and the seized items were seized.
Within the scope of tourist bakeries, a misdemeanor was issued against one of the bakeries for not announcing prices, possessing fortified flour for a purpose other than its intended purpose, and practicing the activity without a license, as a bag of fortified flour with an extraction of 87.5%, weighing 50 kg, was seized.
Intensive food campaigns
The campaign also included visits to municipal bakeries, and resulted in issuing a number of (24) catering violations that varied between the production of bread that was underweight and did not conform to specifications, the lack of cleanliness of kneading tools, closing during official working hours without permission, and the absence of an operating list. The Qalyubia Supply Directorate confirmed the continuation of monitoring campaigns on all food commodity trading outlets in order to preserve the health of citizens and take legal measures against violators.
