The Directorate of Health Affairs in the governorate intensified health awareness and education work in all centers and villages of Sohag, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, and within the framework of a comprehensive plan aimed at directly reaching citizens where they are, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, and Dr. Abla Alfi, Deputy Minister of Health, and with direct assignments from Dr. Amr Dowidar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag.

Dowidar explained that awareness-raising activities are carried out in the morning within health units and facilities, while extending in the evening to mosques and public squares, due to the heavy demand from citizens during the holy month, ensuring maximum benefit and disseminating health messages on a wide scale.
The Undersecretary pointed out that the awareness campaigns target Egyptian family members, and focus on raising the level of health awareness of the most important issues, most notably family development, reproductive health, and the Golden 1000 Days Initiative, in addition to raising awareness of the importance of following sound health behaviors and staying away from harmful habits.
He added that these activities are implemented through specialized and trained medical teams that include the departments of population information, family development, health culture, and therapeutic medical convoys, according to an integrated awareness plan developed by the Sohag Health Directorate, in support of the directions of the state and the Ministry of Health and Population in building a healthy and health-conscious person.
Dowidar stressed the continuation of these efforts throughout the month of Ramadan, with continuous monitoring and evaluation to ensure that health messages are delivered effectively and that citizens in the various centers of the governorate get the maximum benefit.
