Ahmed Ali, Director of the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Suez Governorate, announced the continuation of the directorate’s efforts to organize ration convoys in the areas most in need, as an expanded food convoy was launched in the Mansheyet Geneva area, as part of the state’s plan to provide basic and food commodities at exceptionally reduced prices in support of citizens.
The Director of the Supply Directorate explained, in press statements, that these convoys come in implementation of the directives of Major General Engineer Hani Rashad, Governor of Suez, on the necessity of expanding the provision of basic goods and supplies in remote areas, in a way that reduces the burden on citizens and achieves stability in the markets, noting that the convoy witnessed a large turnout from the people.
He pointed out that the convoy provided a variety of basic commodities, including sugar, oil, and pasta at competitive prices, as sugar was offered at a price of 25 pounds per kilo, oil at a price of 48 pounds per bottle, and pasta at a price of 21 pounds per kilo, in addition to disbursing rations to citizens through smart cards at the convoy site.
He added that the convoy also included a car to distribute butane cylinders to ensure that the service reached the largest number of citizens, in addition to offering large quantities of poultry and frozen items at reduced prices, as the price of poultry weighing 1,200 grams reached about 90 pounds, penne 150 pounds per kilo, liver 70 pounds per kilo, and wings 50 pounds per kilo.
Accountant Ahmed Ali confirmed that the Supply Directorate continues to send more ration convoys to various neighborhoods and villages of the governorate during the coming period, to ensure the availability of food commodities at reasonable prices, in implementation of the directives of the executive leadership, and in order to meet the needs of citizens.
