The Meteorological Authority indicated that the weather today, Saturday, April 18, 2026, will be cold in the early morning, hot to hot during the day in most parts, moderate in temperature on the northwestern coasts, and cold at night.

Weather phenomena expected today, Saturday, in Egypt

The Meteorological Authority revealed the expected phenomena today in Egypt, with the weather witnessing chances of light rain that may be moderate at times, in separate areas of the northern coastal governorates and northern Lower Egypt, and may be thundery at times in areas of South Sinai and the Gulf of Aqaba, and areas of Halayeb, Shalatin, and Marsa Alam, at intermittent intervals, with chances of light rain in separate areas of the southern Lower Lower Governorates, which may extend at a very weak rate to areas of Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, and areas of southern Egypt. Upper Egypt, at intermittent intervals.

Wind activity and maritime navigation disturbance

The Meteorological Authority noted that the winds will be active at speeds ranging from 30 to 40 km/h in most areas, which may cause sand and dust, and lead to reduced horizontal visibility in some areas, at intermittent intervals. The Mediterranean Sea will be turbulent, and the height of the waves will range from 2.5 to 3 metres, and the wind direction will be southwesterly: northwesterly, while the Red Sea will be moderate: turbulent, and the height of the waves will range from 1.5 to 2.5 metres. The wind direction is northwesterly: southwesterly.

The Meteorological Authority explained that the weather today is witnessing disturbance in maritime navigation, on some areas of the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, Salloum, Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Beheira, and Kafr El-Sheikh, and some areas of the coasts of the Gulf of Suez and Aqaba, with wind speeds ranging from 40 to 60 km/h, and wave heights ranging from 2 to 3 metres.

The Meteorological Authority warned of the presence of thunderclouds with an incidence of approximately 30%, accompanied by strong wind activity as a result of air descending from beneath the thunderclouds, in some areas, and the possibility of lightning strikes and chances of hailstones falling in some areas.
