The Red Sea Governorate witnessed a noticeable tourism boom during the spring season of 2026, with a significant increase in hotel occupancy rates, with the influx of tourists of various nationalities, especially European.
And revealed Indicators The tourism sector said that occupancy rates in Hurghada hotels exceeded 80% in many establishments, while in Marsa Alam they ranged between 70 to 75%, with expectations of an increase in the coming weeks in conjunction with the continued flow of international flights.
For his part, Atef Othman, a tourism expert, said that this recovery coincides with the spring season with the Easter holidays in Europe, in addition to the moderate weather, which makes the Red Sea cities a favorite destination for tourists looking for warm beaches and various marine activities.
Othman explained to Cairo 24 that the increase in incoming air traffic, especially to Hurghada and Marsa Alam airports, contributed to supporting occupancy rates, as the two cities receive hundreds of flights weekly carrying thousands of tourists from several European countries.
He stressed that these positive indicators reflect the strength of the Egyptian tourist destination, and herald a strong summer season, in light of the continuation of promotional campaigns and increased demand in the cities of the Red Sea Governorate.
