In a major achievement, the “Together Against Electronic Betting” initiative won first place and the Golden Medal in the third edition of the “Wed Al Khair Initiatives 2026” competition, which is organized under the auspices of the League of Arab States, the Misr Al Kheir Foundation, and the Arab Council for Social Responsibility.
Mahmoud Nasr, head of the initiative, received the award in an official ceremony held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States, where he stressed that the victory is the culmination of the efforts made to combat electronic betting, which has become a threat to Egyptian youth.
Mahmoud Nasr added in exclusive statements to Cairo 24 that the initiative, which was launched in Minya Governorate, focuses on educating young people about the dangers of electronic betting and how to protect their data and digital identities.
The initiative also seeks to empower young people by providing digital entrepreneurship skills as a safe and sustainable alternative to betting, while providing training and self-employment opportunities.
Nasr pointed out that the initiative is distinguished by linking digital protection with economic empowerment, by teaching technological skills that help young people build an independent and secure digital future. In the next phase, the initiative targets many young people in various governorates, which will enhance their ability to face digital challenges.
Nasr expressed his pride in the recognition the initiative received, noting that the “Order of Goodness” represents a starting point for expanding the scope of the initiative and providing innovative solutions that contribute to protecting society from the dangers of electronic betting.
