He met with Engineer Khaled Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Council Supreme Council for Media RegulationDr. Hossam Lotfy, professor of law and expert in the field of intellectual property, in continuation of the steps to strengthen mechanisms for protecting the Egyptian media, artistic and cultural heritage, and efforts to preserve the intellectual property rights associated with it, in light of the digital and technological transformations witnessed in the media file.
President of the Supreme Council for Media discusses mechanisms for protecting media heritage
During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen the legal and regulatory frameworks to protect artistic and creative works, and mechanisms to confront infringements on intellectual property rights in the digital environment, while emphasizing the importance of raising societal awareness of the rights of creators, ensuring the preservation of the Egyptian media and cultural heritage, and achieving a balance between freedom of creativity and protecting the legal rights of owners of works.
This comes within the framework of the efforts of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, as it held a number of sessions with the Egyptian Authority for Intellectual Property and representatives of international platforms to discuss mechanisms for protecting Egyptian content digitally, and enhancing international cooperation to guarantee intellectual property rights on various platforms, thus contributing to consolidating Egypt’s cultural and media status globally.
