Barcelona entered the second leg aware of the difficulty of the task, and succeeded in taking an early lead through Lamine Yamal in the third minute, taking advantage of a defensive error by Atletico Madrid players, making the overall score 2-1 in favor of the Rojiblancos.
Atletico almost equalized quickly in the eighth minute, after Ademola Lookman shot a ball from inside the penalty area that passed near the right post, before Dani Olmo wasted an opportunity in the ninth minute with a weak shot that was blocked by goalkeeper Juan Musso.
Barcelona was able to score the second goal in the 24th minute through Ferran Torres, after a special pass from Dani Olmo. He received it at the edge of the penalty area and dribbled before successfully shooting it into the net.

In the 41st minute, Barcelona players called for a penalty kick, but the match referee refused to award it and indicated that play should continue. The first half ended with Barcelona beating Atletico Madrid 2-1, but the Rojiblancos led the overall score 3-2, after the first leg at Camp Nou ended with a score of 2-0 for Atletico Madrid.
In the second half, Barcelona continued its pressure to score the third goal and equalize the overall score. Indeed, the Blaugrana succeeded in scoring in the 55th minute through Ferran Torres, but after reviewing the match referee with video technology, the match referee canceled the goal due to an offside situation.
In the 65th minute, the third almost came for Barcelona, as after a wonderful dribble by Lamin Yamal from the right side, it ended with a pass to Dani Olmo, who shot it, but it went high.
The match turned upside down in the 77th minute after Turpin returned to the video technology due to the possibility of a red card for Barcelona player Eric Garcia due to obstructing Alexander Sorloth before he was alone with the goal. After returning to the video technology, the referee indicated a red card to Eric Garcia, so the Blaugrana completed the last 10 minutes with 10 players, similar to what happened in the first leg following the early expulsion in the first half of Pau Kuparsi.
In the 86th minute, Molina was alone after mistakes by Barcelona’s defense, but he shot the ball poorly and was blocked by Juan Garcia.
