Zamalek’s competitor in the Confederation Cup quarter-finals

The groups for the CAF Confederation Cup for the 2025-26 season have been decided, except for the second group, which includes Morocco’s Wydad and Maniema Union, along with Azam United and Nairobi.

Zamalek is scheduled to meet the leaders of Group Four, one of the second-place finishers from the other groups in the draw, as they came as follows: Olympique Safi, runner-up in Group One, runner-up in Group Two – not yet determined -, Otoho, runner-up in Group Three).

As for the second group, which has not yet been decided, it is currently led by Moroccan Wydad with 12 points, while Maniema Union occupies runner-up before the final round with 9 points, equal to Azzam United.

The remaining matches of the second group

Moroccan Wydad vs Azzam United – tomorrow, Sunday, February 15 – 4 pm.

Manyima Union vs Nairobi United – tomorrow, Sunday, February 15 – 4 pm.

Who is closest to facing Zamalek in the second group?

The Moroccan Wydad club only needs a draw with the Azzam team to reach the 13th point and secure the lead, and if Manyema wins over Nairobi United (who did not score any points from 5 matches), Manyema will reach the 12th point.

In this scenario, Wydad will lead with 13 points, and Maniema will be runner-up with 12 points, becoming a potential competitor to Zamalek.

If Wydad loses to Azzam (making Azzam’s score 12 and Wydad’s score is 12), and Manyema wins over Nairobi (making its score 12), then 3 teams will be equal with 12 points, and the qualifiers (leader and runner-up) will be decided based on direct confrontations between them or goal difference.
