The Ministry explained that the convoys will include the provision of various medical services, including medical examination and dispensing of necessary medications, stressing that all convoys will have an integrated pharmacy to meet patients’ needs for medications.

According to the schedule issued by the Ministry, the convoys will start from February 28 to March 1, 2026, in the following governorates and centers:

  1. Damietta – Faraskur Center, Karm Wrizq location.
  2. Beni Suef – Ihnasia Center, Shawish location.
  3. Menoufia – Al-Bajour Center, Al-Maqata’ location.

The Ministry indicated that these convoys come within the plan to strengthen medical services in the areas most in need, and to achieve the state’s vision of improving the quality of health services for citizens, especially in villages and remote centers.

The Ministry of Health affirmed its continued support of medical convoys and expanding their scope to cover all governorates of the Republic during the coming period.

Earlier, Dr. Abla Alfi, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting to review performance indicators in the Egyptian family development file, within the implementation of the urgent plan for the National Population Strategy, in the presence of leaders of the primary health care and family development sector.

The meeting discussed birth rates in some governorates, as the Deputy Minister indicated that the entry into the reproductive stage of the 2000 birth cohort adds about 350,000 women annually to the category capable of childbearing, which represents a demographic challenge that requires intensifying awareness efforts and enhancing family planning services, especially reducing unplanned pregnancies and increasing the use of long-term family planning methods after childbirth and during the postpartum period.

She explained that reviewing follow-up files revealed that postpartum visits were concentrated in the first week only, with a noticeable decrease in follow-up during subsequent weeks, stressing the need for continued communication with women to ensure effective and continuous family counseling.
