Confessions of the murderer of her husband, the groom of Al-Marj

Investigating officers in Cairo listened to the statements of Al-Marj’s wife, accused of killing her husband, and they were as follows: My name is Heba Abdel Halim, I am 21 years old, and I am a housewife.

Q: You are accused of killing the victim, Ahmed Magdy Abdel Aziz, intentionally, without premeditation, by beating him and inflicting a blow on him that landed in his chest from the right side, using a white weapon, a knife. The next accusation is the injuries confirmed in the medical report that claimed his life at the time.

A: It didn’t happen. I hit him against my will and he’s hurting me.

Q: Are you accused of carrying a knife without a license, as stated in the investigations?
A: It didn’t happen. It was a kitchen knife and I was cutting cucumbers with it.

Q: What are the details of what happened and what were the circumstances of your arrest and presentation to us?

A: I was sitting at home, and then Ahmed, my husband, came back from work, and then he told me where the food was. I told him to bring it to you. I found him, and he started yelling at me and cursing at me and my family. Then I got annoyed and told him to stop so that he wouldn’t insult your family. I also found him. He came to the kitchen while I was preparing the food, and I found him, and he extended his hand on me and pushed me.. And then I also kept yelling and taking his hand away from me. He and I preferred to separate ourselves, and I was feeling sorry for myself when he grabbed my right hand and wrapped it behind my back. My hand had the knife in it because I used to eat with it, and then when he was coming back, I found him falling to the ground, and I found blood on the knife, so I quickly threw it away.

Al-Marj’s wife continued during the investigations: I thought that he had become ill with her by mistake, and I came to pick him up and found him bleeding, and I feared for him, and I was afraid and did not know what to do. I quickly called his sister Shaima and told her to follow me quickly, and she immediately came to me. Ahmed Magdy was lying on the ground, and after that we removed him and took him to the hospital, and he had died at that time. When the government came, I told the officer that all of this had happened, and that was it. What happened?
