Abbas Shoman said on his Facebook page: The Great Imam Praise be to God, he is recovering from the attack he suffered and will resume his work from his office soon, even though he was not interrupted during the shift. May God bless the crowds of loved ones and their prayers.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, made a phone call to the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, to check on his health condition, following the illness that struck His Eminence during the past weeks, wishing him a full recovery and good health.
For his part, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar expressed his deep thanks and sincere appreciation and gratitude to the President for his generous initiative and personal keenness to check on his health, stressing that this sublime humanitarian gesture reflects his nobility of character and high appreciation for national religious institutions and their symbols.
