Lenovo is preparing to return to the gaming phone market by launching a new phone from the Legion series, after an absence that has continued since the launch of the Legion Y70 in 2022, which then came with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and competed with the leading gaming phones of that period.
Although the company continues to update its Legion gaming tablets annually, the phone series has not received any update since then. However, Lenovo has now confirmed that it is working on a new Legion phone, indicating that the official announcement may take place during the month of May 2026, without revealing additional details.
This announcement comes after a previously unannounced Legion phone appeared at an event held in China during March 2026. The first images showed a familiar design, as the phone looked similar from the back to the Motorola Edge 70, with an almost identical camera unit.

On the other hand, the phone appeared with a different back touch with a clearly prominent Legion logo, while Lenovo did not reveal any official information about the device at the time. With the new announcement, the company promised to provide a smoother and more enjoyable gaming experience on the upcoming phone.
The details of the processor are still not confirmed yet, but the phone is expected to be based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which may make it a direct competitor to the RedMagic 11 Pro series aimed at gaming.
