In implementation of the directives of Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Fayoum, Dr. Mohamed El-Touni, Deputy Governor, chaired the first meeting of the committee to follow up on the operation of the projects of the first phase of the presidential initiative to develop the Egyptian countryside, “A Decent Life,” which was held at the headquarters of the service complex in Shawashna, Youssef Al-Siddiq Center, with the aim of providing the necessary support to the service complexes, and all the initiative’s projects, to ensure the quality of services provided to citizens.

The meeting was attended by Salem Fateeh, head of the local unit of the center and city Youssef Al-SiddiqSayed Salah, head of the field follow-up unit in the governorate, Islam Abdel Tawab, coordinator of the “Decent Life” unit, and members of the committee that includes representatives from directorates; Health, education, youth and sports, agriculture, veterinary medicine, the ambulance authority, and the Fayoum drinking water and sanitation company.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Governor stressed to the representatives of government agencies the necessity of adhering to the state plan to rationalize electricity and its mechanisms. He also discussed with the members of the committee the goal of forming the committee and the specializations concerned with it, and the position of providing the operating requirements for the facilities in terms of manpower, furniture, and technological devices, and the emphasis on the transfer of all workers from the headquarters of the old facilities to the new headquarters received within the initiative.

The Deputy Governor also directed to review the position of maintenance contracts with the central authorities for each sector, periodically follow up on the position of operating facilities and providing their services, and monitor any challenges or observations that hinder the work of operation, with the aim of working to overcome them and ensuring the quality of services provided to citizens.

It is worth noting that Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Fayoum, issued a decision to form a committee headed by Dr. Mohamed El-Touni, Deputy Governor, to supervise, follow up and provide the necessary support for the operation of the completed projects within the “Decent Life” initiative, the first phase, and follow up on the receipt of furniture and various equipment, and the connections of utility meters to the completed facilities, and follow up on technological connectivity work, and monitor the challenges and obstacles to the operation of those facilities and develop proposals to solve them, and follow up on maintenance plans and citizens’ complaints about their access to services in those facilities.
