Samsung today announced a new partnership with Turkish Airlines to enable tracking of lost luggage via the SmartThings Find service.
Through this cooperation, the two companies launched the Smart Tagged Baggage Service, which allows Turkish Airlines passengers to track their lost or delayed bags using Samsung tracking technologies.

The system simply relies on placing the Galaxy SmartTag inside the bag before travelling. When luggage is lost or delayed, the passenger can send a link containing location data to Turkish Airlines within the luggage loss report, which helps the company’s team track the bag more quickly.
In addition, the traveler can use the Change Device Image feature within SmartThings Find to upload a photo of their actual bag in the app, making it easier to identify if it is lost.
SmartThings Find is based on Bluetooth Low Energy and UWB technologies, leveraging a network of more than 700 million devices. Samsung plans to expand this service through cooperation with additional airlines in the coming period.
