Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that the Russians have begun new disinformation campaigns as their meetings with the American side approach, according to media reports.

Zelensky met with the Ukrainian delegation after the end of two days of talks held by Ukrainian officials with their American counterparts in Florida.

Zelensky wrote on the X platform that during the meeting they discussed issues that could not be discussed over the phone.

Russia, Ukraine and America

This meeting comes as Zelensky headed to Dublin in preparation for talks with the Irish government, in a visit that constituted his first official visit to the country.

He explained that his team continued to carry out “the maximum constructive work” with American representatives and European partners, but stressed that “this level of commitment must be paid to by Russia.”

In another context, Zelensky stressed that Kiev’s priorities in the peace talks aimed at ending the war with Russia were to preserve Ukraine’s sovereignty and ensure strong security guarantees.

He considered that “the regional file is the most difficult,” with Moscow continuing to demand that Kiev give up parts of Donbas still under its control, which Ukraine has categorically rejected.

Zelensky’s statements came after he met in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron, where he participated in a call that included the leaders of Britain, Germany, Poland, and Italy.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian and American negotiators concluded two-day meetings in Florida with the aim of redrafting a peace plan that, according to Kiev, is biased in favor of Russia.
