Dr. Muhammad Ismail, internal medicine and chest consultant, said that with the entry of a month Ramadan Al-Karim, many chronic disease patients are confused about when to take medications.

Dr. Muhammad Ismail revealed through his official account on the social networking site Facebook, that there is a simple rule that helps in organizing the day and how to take medications during Ramadan.

Ramadan Suhoor = iftar on normal days
Ramadan Iftar = lunch and dinner on normal days

The internal medicine consultant explained that the medications that you take before or after breakfast on normal days, you can take before or after suhoor during Ramadan, in addition to medications related to lunch or dinner, which are taken before or after breakfast during Ramadan.

Muhammad Ismail confirmed that there is an important exception, which is diuretic medications, especially for patients with heart disease and high blood pressure. It is preferable to take them before breakfast and not before suhoor, to avoid fluid loss during fasting hours.
