The start of the wheat supply season in Luxor
This measure comes in implementation of the decision of the Minister of Supply, Dr. Sherif Farouk, No. 58 of 2026. The price of supplying Erdib wheat this year is set at 2,500 pounds for purity grade 23.5, 2,450 pounds for grade 23, and 2,400 pounds for grade 22.5.
Specialized committees for receipt
The Governor of Luxor, Engineer Abdel Muttalib Emara, directed meticulous daily follow-up of wheat receipt operations. The Supply Directorate formed committees headed by Engineer Abdul Razzaq Al-Safi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, and followed by Hussein Muhammad Ali, Director of the Grain Maintenance Department.







The committees include representatives of the Food and Agriculture Safety Authority, the Marketing Committee, and the Kabbani Association responsible for weighing the crop.
Points of receipt and disbursement of dues
The governorate has prepared 4 main points to receive the crop. The points include Bunker Esna with a capacity of 23 thousand tons, Shune Esna with a capacity of 5 thousand tons, an Armant silo with a capacity of 1 thousand tons, and Shune Armet with a capacity of 5 thousand tons.
The crop is currently being received at only two points in Esna and Arment, alternately, until they are full. The Supply Directorate confirmed its commitment to pay farmers’ dues within 48 hours of supply to ensure that they receive the financial return quickly.
Supportive operating rooms
The Supply Directorate established central and sub-operations rooms to follow up on supplies and inventory daily quantities. These rooms work to quickly intervene and overcome any obstacles that farmers may face during the delivery of the crop.
The aim of supplying local wheat is to support the food security system and reduce import rates from abroad.
