A heavy truck driver suffered fractures and various bruises following a traffic accident in the area Pyramid In Giza Governorate, it resulted in damage to parts of the wall of the archaeological area.

The Giza Security Directorate received a notification from the Rescue Operations Room stating that a collision had occurred and a vehicle transporting a trailer had collided with the wall of the archaeological area.

Immediately, the competent security leaders, the sector’s security forces, and a team of investigators moved to the Al-Balagh site to conduct the necessary examination and inspection.

Initial investigations revealed that while the car was being driven by a 40-year-old driver, the front tire suddenly exploded, causing the steering wheel to malfunction and loss of control of the vehicle.

The accident resulted in the car colliding with five palm trees and uprooting them, before coming to rest, colliding with the wire fence of the archaeological area, causing visible damage to the fence and surrounding trees.

The injured driver was transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary medical care as a result of his fractures and various abrasions, while the relevant agencies seized the car and removed the effects of the accident to restore traffic flow.

A report was drawn up regarding the incident, and it was referred to the Public Prosecution to initiate investigations and determine the full circumstances of the incident.
