The Yemeni Leadership Council issued a decision appointing Shaye’ al-Zindani as Prime Minister️, at a time when Yemeni Prime Minister Salem bin Brik submitted the government’s resignation to the Chairman of the Leadership Council, according to what was reported by the Yemeni News Agency.

The Yemeni agency quoted the statement issued by the Yemeni Leadership Council, which stated, “Today, Decision No. (17) of 2026 was issued by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council appointing Dr. Shaye’ Mohsen al-Zindani as Prime Minister and assigning him to form the government.”

The decision was stated by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council: “After reviewing the Constitution of the Republic of Yemen, and the Gulf Cooperation Council Initiative and its Executive Mechanism signed on 11/23/2011 AD, and Resolution Announcing the Transfer of Authority No. (9) of 2022 AD, and the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council issued on April 7, 2022 AD, and based on Presidential Leadership Council Resolution No. (4) regarding the appointment of a new Prime Minister, and as required by the higher interest.” for the country,” decided the following:

Article (1): Dr. Shaye’ Mohsen al-Zindani is appointed Prime Minister, and is charged with forming the government.
Article (2): The current government will continue to conduct business, with the exception of appointment and dismissal, until the new government is formed.
Article (3): This decision shall be effective from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
