Samsung has officially launched its latest flagship compact Android smartphone, the Galaxy S26, at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The direct successor to the Galaxy S25 comes with a built-in AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a small 4,300mAh battery, and a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization. In addition, the company promises seven major OS updates for the S26 series.

Samsung has now unveiled the Galaxy S26, which comes as a direct successor to the S25, currently available for $432.43 on Amazon. In addition to the regular version, the company also presented the Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event. In terms of design, there are minor changes in the overall design of the Galaxy S26. More precisely, it now comes with a camera cover, which was absent in the last generation. Another thing is that it is now a bit heavier than the S25. More precisely, the S26 phone weighs about 167 grams, or about 0.36 pounds, while the S25 phone weighs about 162 grams, or about 0.32 pounds. Although there are no changes in thickness, as it measures 7.2 mm, which is about 0.28 inches.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 processor coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage with no room to expand the storage. As for the screen, it has a 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with support for an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. Interestingly, the smartphone battery capacity is now larger than before. It features a 4,300 mAh battery, which is a step up from the 4,000 mAh capacity of its predecessor. Additionally, there is support for 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.

Moreover, the camera setting remains unchanged. You get a triple rear camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization support, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. On the front, there is a 12-megapixel camera for taking selfies and video chats. The phone runs on the One UI 8.5 interface based on Android 16 straight out of the box. Furthermore, Samsung is promising seven major OS updates to Android 23 and seven years of security updates for its flagship compact smartphone.

Interested buyers can now pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S26 via Samsung’s official website at a retail price of €999. The open sale will begin on March 11. There are four color options available for the S26, including sky blue, black, white, and cobalt violet.
