The results of the numerical counting of votes in the second district of Fayoum Governorate, based in the Itsa Center, showed a clear superiority of the independent candidates over their competitors from the coalition, after the end of the vote counting within the subcommittees and the submission of the reports to the General Committee.
The numerical tally in the second district of Itsa reveals the superiority of independents over coalition candidates in the House of Representatives elections in Fayoum
According to official data received from within CircleThe number of registered voters in the electoral rolls reached 400,039 voters, while the number of those who cast their votes reached 73,320 voters. The number of invalid votes reached 3,331 votes, compared to 69,490 valid votes.
The numerical tally revealed that the independent candidates advanced remarkably; Mustafa Al-Banna received 40,031 votes, followed by independent Hossam Khalil with a total of 37,375 votes, surpassing the candidates of the National Alliance of Parties.
On the other hand, the coalition candidate, Yasser Salouma, received 31,831 votes, while the candidate, Akram Muhammad Ali, scored 29,243 votes, reflecting a strong competition that was decided by the independents with a significant difference in the total number of valid votes.
The second district of Itsa is one of the largest electoral districts in the governorate in terms of voting bloc, and witnessed intense competition during the runoff between four candidates, two of whom were independent and two from the coalition, before the final census results showed voters’ inclination towards independent candidates.
The final results are scheduled to be submitted to the National Elections Authority to officially approve the winner in accordance with the procedures regulating the electoral process
