He ran Minister of LabourToday, Friday, Mohamed Gibran, conducted a field tour in one of Cairo Governorate’s locations to follow up on the implementation of the activities of the national campaign, Your Safety is Important to Us, which the Ministry recently launched, and which was allocated in its first phase to delivery workers.

During the tour, the Minister met with a number of delivery workers and checked on their professional and social conditions, and listened to their opinions and the daily challenges they face while working. Gibran stressed that the campaign aims to protect this important group in the work and services system, and provide them with the necessary care and protection.
The Minister also held direct dialogues with workers and promised to intensify the campaign’s activities during the coming period, to ensure the achievement of its goals and improve the work environment in this vital sector, within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to direct field follow-up.
The Minister had launched the national campaign, Your Safety is Important to Us, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and within the government’s programme, with the aim of protecting delivery workers socially and professionally, and providing a decent and safe work environment for them, in a way that enhances the concepts of occupational safety and health and limits the risks they may be exposed to while performing their work.
The first phase of the campaign includes providing free protective supplies to the most needy groups, in coordination with partners from the private sector and civil society. These supplies include: a helmet, a reflective vest, gloves, masks, and first aid kits.
The Minister of Labor confirmed that the Ministry is continuing to expand the implementation of the campaign at the level of various governorates, in support of workers in this sector, consolidating the culture of occupational safety and health, and achieving the concept of decent work that guarantees protection and stability for every worker.
