Al-Ahly team is at the top of the standings of the second group of the African Champions League groups with 4 points collected from two matches, after achieving victory over Algeria’s JS Kabylie in the first round, before falling into the trap of a 1-1 draw against the Royal Moroccan Army.

- Royal Army – fourth place – one point
The Red Giants previously met their guest, Young Africans, in 12 matches during the history of their meetings in African club tournaments, all of which came in the CAF Champions League, with its old and new names. Al-Ahly won seven matches and lost one, and the two teams tied in four matches.
