The Egyptian Gazette published in Issue No. 265, issued on November 25, 2025, the Minister of Justice’s Decision No. 5501 of 2025, regarding the authorization of an employee of the Ministry of Culture as a judicial police officer.
The Minister of Justice grants the employee supervising artistic works at the Ministry of Culture the status of judicial control officer
The text of the decision came after reviewing Article 23 of the Code of Criminal Procedure: And on Law No. 430 of 1955 regulating censorship of cinematic tapes, magic lantern paintings, songs, plays, monologues, records, and audio recording tapes, And on Minister of Justice Resolution No. 3744 of 2024 issued on 7/14/2024: And on Minister of Justice Resolution No. 2700 of 2025 issued on 4/16/2025, and according to the letter of the Minister of Culture No. 5427 dated 7/21/2025.
The first article stipulates that the worker – the following is named in his job capacity – is authorized to monitor artistic works in the Ministry of Culture – within his area of jurisdiction – as judicial police officers, in accordance with the text of Article (23) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, with regard to crimes that occur in violation of the provisions of Law No. 430 of 1955 regarding regulating the censorship of cinematic tapes, magic lantern paintings, songs, plays, monologues, records, and audio recording tapes, which is Mohsen Mohamed Hamed Mohamed Ahmed, Inspector of the Supervision of Artistic Works in all governorates of the Republic.
The second article stipulates that the status of judicial control officer granted under the first article of the present decision shall apply until 7/13/2026 – the expiration date of Ministerial Resolution No. 3744 of 2024 issued on 7/14/2024, and Ministerial Resolution No. 2711 of 2025 dated 4/16/2025. Article Three also stipulates that this decision shall be published. In the Egyptian Gazetteer, at the expense of the entity requesting the decision, it shall be effective from the day following the date of its publication. It was issued on 9/16/2025.
