Violent quarrel in the Turkish Parliament
During the past hours, social media users circulated a video clip that documented scenes of representatives from the ruling Justice and Development Party quarreling with representatives of the Republican People’s Party after a heated debate.
Media revealed that the reason behind the outbreak of the quarrel between members was the attempt of a number of opposition representatives to prevent the new Minister of Justice, Akin Gorlak, from taking the constitutional oath under the dome of Parliament.
It is noteworthy that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a presidential decree yesterday, Tuesday, accepting the resignation of Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunç and Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, according to a decree published in the Official Gazette.
According to the statement published in the Government’s Official Gazette, Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunç was removed from his position based on his resignation request and Istanbul Prosecutor Akin Gyurlik was appointed in his place.
