Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, made an official visit to Ankara Gaziler Hospital in Turkey, on the sidelines of the activities of the Eleventh World Medical Conference held from November 24 to 26.

Ankara Gaziler Hospital is one of the world’s leading centers for the rehabilitation of spinal cord injuries and brain trauma, advanced robotic rehabilitation, and the rehabilitation of war casualties and complex injuries, as it adopts the latest technologies such as robotic systems (Lokomat and Armeo), anti-gravity walking, functional electrical stimulation, and artificial intelligence in rehabilitation programs.

The visit aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and transfer this pioneering experience to Egypt, through developing rehabilitation units, training Egyptian medical personnel, and modernizing the infrastructure to provide world-class rehabilitation services to Egyptian patients.


During the tour, the Minister was briefed on the latest treatment protocols and advanced technology in the hospital, which includes 210 beds and 16 specialized clinics. He also discussed with his management training programs in complementary medicine (acupuncture and ozone therapy) and ways to expand future partnerships.
The visit confirms Egypt’s keenness to benefit from leading international models. To improve the rehabilitation system and provide integrated health care worthy of the Egyptian citizen.
