The family of the taxi driver who was the victim in the murder incident in the village of Sheikh Alaa in the Minya Center expressed their satisfaction with the decision of the Minya Criminal Court to refer the accused’s papers to the Mufti of the Republic to take a legal opinion on his execution, stressing that “our rights have been restored and we thank the Egyptian judiciary that did justice to us.”

Today, the Minya Criminal Court decided to refer the papers of the accused of killing a taxi driver in the village of Sheikh Alaa to the Mufti of the Republic, with the ruling to be pronounced at a later session.

The events of the case go back to the security services in the Minya Security Directorate receiving a report that a taxi driver had been found murdered within the confines of the village of Sheikh Alaa, under mysterious circumstances, and upon moving and examining it, it was revealed that there was a criminal suspicion.
By intensifying investigations and gathering information, the security services were able to identify and arrest the accused, and when confronted, he admitted to committing the incident with the motive of theft.

A report was drawn up regarding the incident, and the Public Prosecution, which undertook the investigation, was notified before referring the accused to the Criminal Court, which issued its decision to refer his papers to the Mufti of the Republic, in preparation for issuing the final ruling in the case.
