Major General Dr. Muhammad al-Zamlot, Governor of the New Valley, chaired the meeting of the Executive Council of the Governorate, in the presence of Major General Walid Mansour, Assistant Minister of the Interior and Director of Security in the New Valley, Sayed Mahmoud, Secretary-General of the Governorate, Colonel Ihab Nafie, Assistant Secretary-General of the Governorate, and a group of executive, security and popular leaders.

Raising the level of preparedness in all sectors

The Governor began the meeting by offering congratulations to the executive leadership on the occasion of the approaching month of Ramadan, stressing the continuation of raising the degree of preparedness in all relevant sectors, and full coordination between the competent authorities. To ensure the provision of an appropriate atmosphere for citizens during the holy month and to maximize the efficiency of the services provided.

During the meeting, the governor directed a number of decisions and assignments related to service and development affairs, the most prominent of which was intensifying preparations in the centers to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, and expanding the implementation of community initiatives to provide food commodities and meat at reduced prices compared to their counterparts in the markets to serve citizens.

He also directed the organization of religious competitions in mosques in coordination with the Endowments Directorate throughout the holy month, the preparation of a celebration honoring memorizers of the Holy Qur’an during Laylat al-Qadr, and the prohibition of serving shisha in establishments and cafeterias rented by government agencies in the governorate.

The Governor of New Valley stressed the necessity of coordination with the Social Housing Fund. To implement housing units in the city of Balat, based on the requests of 1,178 applicants who have paid the seriousness fee.

He also directed periodic follow-up of ongoing work and the executive position for the maintenance of new schools and educational facilities, ensuring their readiness according to the approved timetables, allocating a percentage of investors’ donations, and collecting a percentage of the land offered for investment for the project to establish an oncology hospital.

He directed the follow-up of procedures to raise the efficiency of the Phosphate Road in Al-Kharjah in coordination with the General Authority for Roads, and to adhere to the time plan for implementation and coordination between the centers and the Directorate of Social Solidarity to follow up on holding tables for the Most Merciful and providing meals for fasting and expatriate students in the housing of male and female students.
