There are conservative markets New Valley A state of relative calm in the prices of poultry and eggs, amid a noticeable demand from citizens to buy, in light of the dependence of a large segment of families on poultry as a basic food option that provides protein at reasonable prices compared to red meat. This stability comes supported by the regular movement of production within farms and the availability of sufficient quantities to meet the needs of the local market.

During a field follow-up of the buying and selling movement in various centers, a number of merchants explained that prices did not record any new increases today, Friday, December 26, 2025, stressing that the supply is witnessing a clear abundance, whether inside sales stores or government outlets, which was reflected in the stability of prices at their levels during the past days.

Poultry prices in the governorate’s markets came in the following order:

– Sasso chickens: 80 pounds per kilo, supported by the quality of production and the increased demand for them.
– Local chicken: The price per kilo reached 120 pounds, due to the limited supply compared to other types.

As for egg prices, they remained stable without change, as they recorded:
– White eggs: 125 pounds per carton.
– Red eggs: 140 pounds per carton.
– Local eggs: 155 pounds per carton, as they are the highest price to increase demand for them.

The New Valley Governorate has natural ingredients that make it one of the most promising areas in the field of poultry farming. The dry climate and clean desert environment have contributed to the remarkable expansion of the establishment of modern farms in recent years, which has led to an increase in the volume of production and an improvement in the quality of the supply in the local markets.

The state’s efforts also played an important role in supporting this sector, by supporting small breeders, providing vaccinations and periodic veterinary services, as well as supporting fodder, which contributed to reducing mortality rates and stabilizing the production system.

The Veterinary Medicine Directorate, in cooperation with local units, continues to implement daily follow-up and monitoring campaigns on the markets, to ensure the safety of the supply, adherence to prices, and prevent any monopolistic practices or commercial fraud.

In light of the abundance of production and the improvement of supply chains, expectations indicate continued stability in poultry and egg prices during the coming period, which will contribute to meeting the needs of citizens in various centers and villages of the governorate, and supporting the stability of the local market.
