Today, Thursday, Diaa Rashwan, Minister of State for Information, participates in the meetings of the Media and Culture Committee in House of Representativeswhich holds 3 meetings to discuss a number of briefing requests related to the media file.
Parliamentary meetings to discuss requests regarding the media file
Issam Al-Amir, Undersecretary of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, also attends the committee meetings, where 3 briefing requests that address pivotal issues in the media scene are reviewed.
It is scheduled to review a briefing request regarding the executive policies of the Ministry of State for Information, and its time plan to activate the constitutional guarantees for freedom of the press and the freedom to circulate information, in addition to addressing the crisis of confidence in the Egyptian media, in addition to a briefing request regarding the controls governing the official media discourse in dealing with economic issues, and the extent of its commitment to presenting an integrated and objective picture of the living reality of citizens.
The meetings will review a briefing request regarding the decline in the effectiveness of media mechanisms in confronting systematic rumours, and ways to enhance the role of the media in confronting them.
