The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the invitation extended by the President American Donald Trump to the Emir of the country, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to join the Peace Council, announcing the approval of the State of Kuwait to join the Council and the start of procedures for signing accession documents in accordance with the legal frameworks in force in the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a statement, that Kuwait renews its appreciation for the peace efforts led by US President Donald Trump, stressing its full support for implementing the tasks of the Peace Council as a transitional body, within the framework of the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
Establish a permanent ceasefire
The Ministry explained that the plan, which was adopted by the UN Security Council pursuant to its Resolution No. 2803, aims to establish a permanent ceasefire, support reconstruction efforts in Gaza, and push towards achieving a just and lasting peace, ensuring the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and establishing their independent state in accordance with international law.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry stressed that these steps come within the framework of Kuwait’s keenness to contribute to achieving security and stability in the region, and to support international efforts aimed at ending the conflict and achieving peace for the peoples of the region.
