Hosted by the Culture and Media Committee In the Senate Chaired by Representative Muhammad Omran, during its meeting today, Al-Balshi, the head of the Journalists Syndicate, and Tariq Saada, the head of the Media Syndicate, to discuss the proposal submitted by Representative Yasser Jalal regarding establishing a clear regulatory framework from the concerned authorities that regulates and prohibits photography, recording, or publishing without permission or prior authorization, except within the limits approved by the law.

The committee also discussed MP Ahmed Abdel Latif’s proposal regarding increasing the number of tourist rooms to support the growth of the tourism sector.

For his part, Representative Yasser Jalal, a member of the Senate, reviewed the proposal regarding controls over publishing and photography.

He said during a meeting of the Culture and Media Committee in the Senate: No one affects the right of the journalist because it is an explicit constitutional article and violating it is a serious mistake, stressing: We support freedom of the press.

He added during the meeting of the Culture and Media Committee in the Senate, in the presence of the heads of the Journalists and Media Syndicates, that regulation must not be based on pictures of the feet of a female journalist, and the exercise of their rights by trainee journalists must be regulated and regulated through the Journalists Syndicate.

He said, “Recently, the chaos of inappropriate photography has spread at funerals and events. It has reached the point of some female artists photographing inappropriate pictures, and at funerals, inappropriate photography and storming of the family of the deceased.”
