Al-Ahly had previously agreed to loan Hamza Abdel Karim to Barcelona, Spain, for the end of the current season for a period of 6 months, with a clause allowing the Catalan club to buy him permanently at the end of his loan.
Hamza Abdel Karim heads to Spain within hours. In order to complete the procedures for his transfer to Barcelona, the Spanish club, to become the first Egyptian to join the ranks of the Catalan team.
Abdel Karim signed an extension of his contract with Al-Ahly until next summer 2028, for an additional season, in light of his exit on loan to the Catalan club, as a procedure followed by the Red Club to preserve its young elements.
From the beginning, Barcelona set the value of purchasing Hamza Abdel Karim at 1.25 million euros after the end of the 6-month loan period from January to June, but the Catalan club raised it to 1.5 million euros based on the desire of the Al-Ahly club, in addition to additional rewards linked to his participation with Barcelona, the value of which will rise from 3 to 5 million euros.
Al-Ahly will also receive 15% of the value of Barcelona’s sale of Hamza Abdel Karim’s services in the future, after the Catalan club offered Al-Ahmar to receive only 10%, before the Blaugrana raised its offer to persuade Al-Ahly to agree to its sale.
