Spotify has launched a new update that adds song lyrics directly to the “Now Playing” screen, clearly appearing below the album art while listening. It is believed that this update is being activated from the servers, after a number of Reddit users noticed it during the past hours.
At the same time, the platform kept the full word display window at the bottom of the playback screen, allowing users to follow the words more extensively if they wish.
Spotify also provided the option to turn off the new feature for those who do not prefer the appearance of words on the main screen, in addition to the ability to change the text size in full width mode, a feature that was already observed within the Spotify beta version.
However, it is expected that the update will take some time before it reaches all users around the world, so some may need to wait a little.
This update comes as part of a series of improvements that Spotify has been working on recently, as the new lyrics display feature joins the Prompted Playlists feature, which allows creating playlists using commands powered by artificial intelligence.
